Our client was charged with Conspiracy To Cheat The Public Revenue, Contrary to section 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977. It was alleged that between 31 January 2014 and 23 June 2017, the defendants conspired together and with others, to cheat Her Majesty the Queen and Her Commissioners of Revenue and Customs of public revenue by the dishonest submission of false Value Added Tax returns to the value of £12.8 million in connection with Operation Centime.
Following an eight-week trial at Southwark Crown Court our client was one of only two defendants acquitted.
