Successful case outcome for MK Law client – Represented by Kerim Kumbarji

MK Law solicitor Kerim Kumbarji achieved an excellent result for our client in a drug-related matter.

In September 2024, the client was found in possession of a quantity of cannabis, £3,000 in cash, and two mobile phones. He was suspected of possessing the drugs with intent to supply. The cash and phones were seized, and he was bailed to return for further investigation.

The client contacted Kerim through a personal recommendation and he represented him at the police station, where he advised a “no comment” interview.

The client was charged and Kerim advised him to plead not guilty and elect a Crown Court trial. Following the client’s not guilty plea Kerim made detailed representations to the reviewing lawyer, arguing that it was not in the public interest to proceed with prosecution due to the client’s good character.

Further robust representations were made to the reviewing lawyer, urging a reconsideration of the case. Ultimately, the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence, and the case was dismissed several weeks before the client’s plea hearing in the Crown Court.
