Since its establishment in 2008, MK Law has been built on strong leadership, shared values, and a commitment to excellence in criminal defence. Founded by Manisha Knights, the firm quickly expanded with the appointment of Hesham Puri as Company Director in 2009. Together, they shaped a culture centred on empowering others, encouraging autonomy, and creating opportunities for individuals to thrive.
This progressive leadership approach has continued to define the firm’s growth. In April 2023, Barrister Emma Lewis joined the Board of Directors, followed by Solicitor Oliver Dean in September 2023. In April 2025, Kerry Hudson was recruited to further strengthen the leadership team. Long-standing team member Jonathan Mellody, who joined the firm as a Caseworker in 2014, has also progressed to become a Director, reflecting the firm’s dedication to recognising talent and commitment from within.
Today, the six Directors together form a strong, unified, and highly experienced leadership team. Importantly, all six remain actively practising, regularly attending police stations and appearing before the Courts, ensuring that their leadership is grounded in real, day-to-day legal practice and client representation.
