Following an eight week trial at The Old Bailey Robert Rye’s client was acquitted of murder and conspiracy to rob. This was a high profile case involving 5 defendants, 4 of whom were charged with murder and conspiracy to rob on a joint enterprise, and the other with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The Jury returned a unanimous not guilty verdict in regard to our client and one other whilst finding 3 other defendants guilty of manslaughter and conspiracy to rob and the last defendant guilty on the firearms offence.
